Why Nurturing Wonders?
We believe in educating and empowering the whole child. Where childhood is respected and learning is authentic. There are no worksheets, or timed centers here. When children are not rushed, or required, they have time to truly focus and connect.
Why is play necessary?
Example 1: make-believe requires imagination. Imagination turns into creativity. Creativity is needed for strategic thinking, and strategic thinking brings forth innovation. You see, children may be playing, but they are undeniably receiving the highest value of learning.
What ages do you accept?
Nurturing Wonders caters to children ages 3 to 12 years old. Our program incorporates children of mixed ages in our space and we believe there is great benefit to learning from peers both older and younger. We strive to create a community of young learners who can build relationships within.
What are your hours?
Our Schoolhouse Sessions are
Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm
Appointments and Tours may be scheduled for after session hours, as we do respect our children's safe space at Nurturing Wonders.
What is your attendance policy?
Tuition covers scheduled days of attendance (2-5 days per week) and cannot be transferred due to any missed days or late drop off/early pick-ups.
We offer drop-in care which may be scheduled up to 48 hours prior to attendance.
What should I pack for my child?
Families should pack children a nutritious lunch or snack & reusable water bottle which will be refilled as necessary. We ask that children do not bring a bag full of treats- we all eat treats- however the nutrition from treats alone may not give us what our bodies need (so much running, jumping, climbing).
What should my child wear?
Children are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activities. Dress for adventure!
Rainy days= rainboots & rain suits.
If it's cold: add base layers.
In the summer: sun hat & swimwear.
What do you do during inclement weather?
While we don't believe in such a thing as bad weather, we do believe in saftey. We will remain indoors only during thunderstorms/ lightning/ heavy winds. We play outside in the warmth, cold, rain or shine.
